What Are Fruit Salad Nails?

Fruit salad nails can take on a variety of different forms, but they all share one common detail: they use a variety of fruits in one manicure. "Each nail is typically painted with a different design, creating a really playful manicure," Hanna says. "Fruit salad nails are trending because they are such a great option for summer. They're fun and colorful."

How to Get Fruit Salad Nails

There are numerous ways to achieve fruit salad nails, but if you're going the DIY route, there are a few things to consider. "Consider using nail art stickers if you don't feel comfortable hand-painting the fruits," Hanna says. "A great option for nail art stickers for this trend is Deco Beauty's Fruit Salad Stickers ($12)." Hanna also mentions that while there isn't a specific nail shape that has to be used with this trend, you may want to consider adding some length. "You'd be able to fit more art on longer nails," she says. "Still, all shapes will work well for this trend, depending on how you go about the design."

You can also combine this design with other nail trends. Hanna recommends pairing fruit salad nails with aura nails, negative-space nail art, and even French manicures. There's also the option to make the look more 3D. Simple Fruit-Salad Nails

Prefer a more minimal fruit-salad manicure? Opt for tiny versions of your favorite fruits on each finger.

Chrome Fruit Salad Nails

If you want to take your fruit salad nails up a notch, why not combine two trends in one? Chrome nails are a forever trend, but combining them with fruit salad nails takes the cute to a whole new level.

Checkered Fruit Salad Nails

Want to make your fruit salad nails seem even more realistic? Why not include a fun checkered print on the tip, which makes it seem like your fruit is sitting on a blanket during a picnic?

Multicolored Fruit-Salad Nails

This version of the fruit-salad manicure utilizes hand-drawn nail art, which is just as colorful and eye-catching as a 3D design.

Pastel Fruit-Salad Nails

While many examples of the fruit salad nail trend are on a clear or nude base, this manicure really pops with a yellow background shade. The accompanying fruit designs are in complementary pastel tones for a cohesive look.

Intricate 3D Fruit Salad Nails

If you fall on the maximalist end of the spectrum, your nails can involve some type of 3D details. Play up the texture of the manicure by highlighting one facet of each fruit, like the roundness of grapes or the seeds of a dragon fruit for a juicy look.

Long Fruit-Salad Nails

Though Mazz says that a specific nail shape and length don't matter with this trend, this example proves that long nails give you a ton of space to play with. This design really captures the detail of each fruit.

Fruit-Salad French Tips

A more unique approach to the fruit salad nail trend is painting each fruit onto the tip of the nail, ร  la the side-tip French manicure.
